Brendan Gleeson as Reynald

A former teacher, burly Irish actor Brendan Gleeson spent the 1990s earning an increasing amount of acclaim for his work. Gleeson, who made his feature film debut in The Field made an impression on audiences in the role of Hamish, William Wallace's ally in Braveheart .

His career flourishing, it was only a matter of time before Gleeson had the opportunity to expand his resume to include the occasional Hollywood blockbuster. That opportunity came by way of Mission: Impossible 2. Appearing in several films such as Trainspotting and 28 Days Later it wasn't long before Gleeson was once again appearing in high-profile films Like Gangs of New York.

Brendan Gleeson has joined the cast of director Ridley Scott's epic Kingdom of Heaven for 20th Century Fox. Gleeson will star opposite Orlando Bloom in the film, which could very well be his most exciting role to date.
